One of the main things you need to Grow in Christ is to get yourself equipped with the Word of God.
A great way to do that here at DVBC is by joining an adult education class. There are many adult education opportunities available on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. Please scroll down to view the ministry you’d like to learn more about.
Faith Class
Covering the essentials of our faith, this class gives you an overview of Biblical Christianity and what it means to follow Christ. This is a great class for anyone who may be new to the faith and desires to gain a greater understanding of what Christians believe and how to make your faith grow. At the conclusion of this class, an opportunity will be given to you to join our Ministry Partners team, which is Desert View’s version of membership. Signups for the Winter 2012 Faith Class will begin in February. The class will be for 8 Sundays, March 4 – April 29 at 9:00am in Room 23. Financial Peace University
This 13 week program from Dave Ramsey, author, radio and TV commentator on finances, will give you the tools to take on the challenge of finances, whether married or single. It’s one of the big points of conflict in life. Why not forge a plan that is simple, effective and will safeguard your finances and reduce stress? The average couple taking the class reduces debt by $4,500 and saves $2,000. Cost is $99 per couple or individual. Scholarships are available. This class is closed for this semester.
Faith in Action
If you are a graduate of the Faith Class (formerly called Class 100), Faith in Action is the next step for you! Join Dave Otto with a hands-on look at how to put your faith to work. We talk about discipleship and then do it. The next class will be scheduled for 5 weeks once our new building is completed. Contact Bonnie Mason for more information.
Read the Bible in 90 Days
Change your life in 90 days! No, it’s not another self help program. It’s reading through the Bible in 90 days. What could be better than that? We will schedule the class when our new building is completed. The key will be reading 12 pages a day. It’s a terrific program and we are looking for folks to join us in this Bible adventure. From time to time, we offer special interest Adult Education Elective classes. Some examples include: The Truth Project, The Holy Spirit 101, Parenting Classes, and others. Adult Elective classes will be announced at the beginning of the Fall and Spring season.

Support Groups
We also offer some adult support groups:
- AA – Alcoholics Anonymous. Alcohol addiction recovery. Al-anon welcome also. This group meets on Tuesday nights at 7-9PM in Palo Verde #3.
- Griefshare - Griefshare is a 13 week series of Christ centered ministry to those who have lost a loved one to death. It is open to any and all in our community who are suffering this loss. Meets Saturdays, beginning September 10th from 9-11am in Room 21. For more information, contact the church office at 623.298.4900.
- For Men Only – For Men recovering from Pornography Addiction. Meets Tuesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. in Palo Verde #3.
- GA/GAA – Gamblers Anonymous, for those recovering from Gambling Addiction and GAA meeting for family members of those recovering from/struggling with Gamling Addction. Both groups meet Thursday evenings from 7-9PM in Palo Verde #3
