Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of weekly worship?
We come together weekly to worship, not because we have to, but because we want to. God’s Word teaches us that it is good for our walk with Christ for us to meet together, study the Word together, and sing songs of worship and praise to the Lord. We encourage you to meet with God weekly with other Christians so that you stay connected to a local body that can help you grow in your faith, give you support when needed, and give you opportunities to serve. Being a part of a healthy church is a great thing for a follower of Christ because it has a “sharpening” effect on us, helping us stay accountable to doing what God desires and fulfilling all that He has for us. It is our hope and desire that you’ll find that home for connecting with God here at DVBC.
What is the format/style of worship at DVBC?
Usually when this question is asked, it’s a reference to the style of music. Our worship style is “eclectic,” borrowing from all eras of historical worship music, and many different styles of music: pop, country, classical, worldbeat, jazz, and rock. Our worship band employs modern and ancient instruments, so no matter what you’re musical taste, there’s probably something for you. The music, visuals, readings, drama, and messages draw from ancient and modern sources and everything in between. Our philosophy is that just as truth never changes, so great music and other art forms are also timeless. Our focus is not so much on how we’re worshipping, but whom we are worshipping.
How can I join the team or find out more information?

How can I pray for the Worship Arts Ministry at DVBC?
We would ask that you would join us to pray that Desert View would be a place where people can meet with God, and God with us. Pray the Lord would grow this ministry how He sees fit, and that everyone would know they are welcome. Most of all, our desire is to honor Christ and remove all obstacles to worship, so that people are free to experience the Lord here and the Spirit of the Lord can be unleashed and not quenched.
