Day 17 – Stewardship

Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? Luke 16:10, 11

A steward is a person who manages someone else’s property, finances, or other affairs. As Christians, we are stewards of everything that God has given us. We need to develop the mindset of being a steward rather than being an owner of all that we have. To be a disciple is to be a steward.

Stewardship is a process that invites you to take stock of your entire life and respond with joy and thanksgiving for all that is in your sphere of influence.

Instead of clinging to all that we have, let us remember it is God who blesses and gives us all our resources. Therefore, it is not up to us to run our lives the way we want. We are stewards managing the blessings that God has given us. God’s blessing makes it possible for us to prosper, and the foundation of prosperity is seeing ourselves as stewards.

May we continue to be generous and wise with whatever amount of His money the God of sovereign grace calls upon us to manage. Randy Alcorn

REFLECTION: Am I wisely managing the blessings God has entrusted to me? If not, how should I change to manage them better?

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for allowing me to be a steward of everything you have given me. Help me to be faithful in managing all you have given me.
