Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. II Cor. 9:6-7

God wants us to mindfully consider how much to cheerfully give, and not to give with reluctance or under coercion. Each individual should ask God for direction in their giving, so it is an expression of dependence on God and gratitude to Him. If we give cheerfully and willingly, the promise is that God will provide all that we need to continue doing well. We will harvest in proportion to our planting.

Our giving is a response to God’s grace, and bridges our insecurities to faith in what God will do. When we give, we learn to rely on God to provide for our needs, rather than putting our confidence
in riches.

May our hearts be filled with love, joy and worship to God, as we give voluntarily of our finances, knowing our giving expresses appreciation for all He has done for us.

When God has something very great to accomplish for His church, it is His will that there should precede it the extraordinary prayers of His people. Jonathan Edwards

REFLECTION: How does God want me to give?

PRAYER: Dear Father, help me to have the courage to respond in faith with a generous heart and to give cheerfully. …Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. II Cor. 1:11
