Dr. Larry Anderson
Interim Senior Pastor
Larry Anderson is currently the Interim Senior Pastor here at Desert View. He stepped down as the senior pastor at North Bible Church in Scottsdale in September of 2019. He has a MAT and Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. Larry started his ministry career with Young Life International and left as Senior Vice President in 2004. Later that year Larry and his wife, Gina, moved back to Arizona to serve in the church. He served as the interim pastor for Scottsdale Bible Church and later planted North Bible Church. He continues to support younger pastors and leaders both in the U.S. and Europe. In addition, Larry serves on the Board of Trustees at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix. Larry and Gina have been married for forty-four years. They have three sons who are all pastors and ten grandchildren.
Pastor of Adult & Family Ministries
Ben is originally from Michigan, and made his way to Phoenix via Southwest Florida and Dallas, TX. He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy, George Mason University, and holds a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is most grateful to be Melissa's husband and dad to Jacob, Joshua, and Ethan. Ben wants to see people follow Jesus more closely, and he would love to help you and your family put down roots and thrive here at Desert View!
Worship Arts Pastor
Mike Bohlmann is a Phoenix native and a graduate of Grand Canyon University and received his Master of Arts Degree from Wheaton College. Mike spent the first half of his career in Christian counseling until the Lord led him into full time music ministry in 2003. Mike married his beautiful wife Angi in 1993 and has two girls, Audrey and Carissa. Mike directs the Worship Arts Ministry and also assists members of our church family to get connected to counseling resources.
Director of Connections & Prayer
Karen grew up in southern California as a pastor's kid, and moved to Arizona in 1980.She worked over 30 years in the Arizona legal community as a legal secretary and paralegal. Karen has a BA in Bible from Biola University. She enjoys trips to visit family and friends, which include many opportunities to photograph God's awesome creation. Karen has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. Her passion is prayer and worship, along with helping people get connected at DVBC.
Youth Ministry Director - High School
Craig was born in Montana, but grew up in Flagstaff. He graduated from Southwestern College in 2010 with a degree in Christian Ministries. Craig and his wife, Brittany, have two young sons, Camden and Barrett, and infant twins, Addilyn and Beckham. Craig has been in youth ministry since 2010.
Youth Ministry Director - Middle School
Billy was born in New York but moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when he was twelve years old. Billy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry from Liberty University in 2014, and has served in student ministries ever since. He married his High School sweetheart, Leanna, in 2016. Billy leads our 56 Street and Junior High Ministries.
Director of Children's Ministry
Dawn is an Arizona native and has attended DVBC since 2006. She is blessed to be wife to Steve and mom to Katy and Noah. Dawn received her B.A. in Communication Disorders from Biola University and an M.S. from ASU in Speech and Hearing Science. She has a passion for helping kids fall in love with Jesus and is excited to serve the families of Desert View!
Director of Finance & Facility
Don was born and raised in Indiana. He moved to Arizona in 2006 after retiring from the General Contracting and Real Estate Development firm that he owned for 25 years. Don and Dena were married in 1980, and they have 3 grown children, a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. In 2013 Don co-founded Belay Global, an international mission organization that creates Kingdom entrepreneurs and working professionals to reach the world for Christ. He also is a partner in an energy company in Rwanda that specializes in Hydro-Electric power project development.
Beth Scott grew up in a small town in Iowa. She married Bill in 1999 and they have two boys, Caleb and Derek. They moved to Phoenix in 2007. Beth has worked in the finance ministry at Desert View since September of 2012.
Media & Youth Worship Coordinator
Adam Crane was born in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Phoenix in 2002 to attend Grand Canyon University, where he received a Bachelor's in Christian Education with an emphasis in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministries. Adam leads the Youth Ministry worship teams and is the coordinator for audio visual needs.
Vocal Team Coordinator
Alyssa is originally from the Island of Oahu. She is a recent graduate of Grand Canyon University, majoring in Worship Arts Ministry. Alyssa knew that the Lord was calling her to serve Him through worship when she was 17 years old. Her heart is to serve the Lord and others in any way that she can. She grew up in a Christian, loving, close-knit family, She has two siblings and six nieces and nephews! Alyssa loves to sing and is learning to play piano and guitar.
Mike Baker was born in California and moved to Arizona in 1965. After graduating from ASU, Mike became a member of the PGA. After 10 years as a golf pro, he spent the next 27 years as a successful national businessman. Mike was one of the 4 original Shepherds of Desert View. In Oct. 2009, Mike joined the DVBC staff as the Business Administrator. He currently serves as Benevolence Coordinator and is a Dave Ramsey Financial Coach. Mike married Debbie (a Phoenix native) in 1969. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, all living in the Valley.
Susan Bailey was born in New York and lived in Florida for several years before moving to Arizona in 1980. Susan married Brad in 1990, and they have two daughters, Deanna and Kirsten. She received a Bachelor's in Public Administration from the UofA and a Master's in Educational Leadership from NAU. She has worked in multiple educational settings, as well as homeschooled her daughters. Susan is excited to be a part of the DVBC staff as the ministry assistant for Pastors Sandy and Ben.
Youth & Children's Ministry Assistant
Jacquelyn Mosher was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She married her husband in 2004 and they have three children. Before becoming a stay at home Mom and medical transcriptionist, Jacquelyn managed teams providing technical support for hotel management software. She joined the Kids in the Word team in 2015 and is excited to be a part of the Youth Ministry team here at DVBC.
Cindy Watson grew up in Iowa and had her first ‘official’ date with her husband, Gary for her 14th birthday. Married since 1966, they have 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. After living in 5 different states, the Watsons landed in Omaha where Cindy completed her Bachelor of Music Education degree at UNO and taught K-9th grade music in the Omaha Public Schools. The Watsons moved to Phoenix in 1986 and started attending DVBC the first Sunday at the ‘Church in the Box.’ Cindy joined the staff in 2006 and is currently the ministry assistant for worship, adult, and prayer ministries.
Middle School Intern
Ellie was born in Fishers, IN and moved to Flagstaff in 2011, and to Phoenix in 2015. She currently attends Grand Canyon University, studying for her degree in Elementary Education. Ellie knew she wanted to teach kids when she started volunteering as a 1st grade teacher at Desert View. She has a loving, Christian home with a younger brother and 4 little dogs. She is excited for God's journey for her in this new season, and to be a part of Desert View's youth ministry!
Jim Mason is part of Desert View's custodial staff. Jim is the younger brother of DVBC's fouding pastor, Sandy. In 2016, Jim took an early retirement from school teaching in order to care-take his parents, Roy and Bonnie. Jim has been involved in Boys in the Book and is part of a Community Care group. Jim also has been a part of Along Side Ministries. Jim's favorite scripture is "We walk by faith, not by sight." His home church is Living Word Scottsdale. Although his hours at DVBC are limited, he enjoys keeping God's house as immaculate as possible!
