Sandy Mason is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he met his wife Margie and where Jesus found them both. He has a Master in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is "dad" to two sons and two daughters, all grown, and "Papa" to four grandchildren. He loves his life with Margie, opening their home to friends and family, watching football, horse-back riding and a form of golf. Executive Director of Ministry Development
Margie Mason grew up in a military family and lived all over the United States. She has a BS in Nursing from ASU, where she was introduced to Jesus and her husband, Sandy Mason, the senior pastor. She has four children and four grandchildren. Margie oversees the administration of the church and staff. Her passion is teaching others to study the Bible for themselves.
Worship Arts Pastor
Mike Bohlmann is a Phoenix native and a graduate of Grand Canyon University and received his Master of Arts Degree from Wheaton College. Mike spent the first half of his career in Christian counseling until the Lord led him into full time music ministry in 2003. Mike married his beautiful wife Angi in 1993 and has two girls, Audrey (19) and Carissa (15). Mike directs the Worship Arts Ministry and also assists members of our church family to get connected to counseling needs.
Director of Connections & Prayer
Karen grew up in southern California as a pastor's kid, and moved to Arizona in 1980.She worked over 30 years in the Arizona legal community as a legal secretary and paralegal. Karen has a BA in Bible from Biola University. She enjoys trips to visit family and friends, which include many opportunities to photograph God's awesome creation. Karen has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. Her passion is prayer and worship, along with helping people get connected at DVBC.
Director of Youth Ministry: 9th-12th Grades
Craig was born in Montana, but grew up in Flagstaff. He graduated from Southwestern College in 2010 with a degree in Christian Ministries. Craig and his wife, Brittany, have two young sons, Camden and Barrett. Craig has been in youth ministry since 2010.
Director of Middle School: 5th-8th Grades
Ben Sheets is a graduate of Arizona State University. He met his wife Lisa at the Young Adults group at Desert View. They have two boys, Braeden, four years old, and Parker, three years old. Ben was a part of the youth ministry here at Desert View when in high school, and has served as a youth volunteer for several years.
Director of Children's Ministry
Terri grew up in Rochester, NY and moved to Phoenix with her family in 2008. She married Paul in 2001 and together they have 3 kids. Terri spent the first 10 years of her professional career in Corporate Finance. When they moved here, she enjoyed a few years staying home with her children and then God brought her on staff at Desert View part time in 2012 to coordinate staffing of our Birth-4th Grade classrooms and help with various ministry projects. In March 2017, she came on full time as our Director of Children’s Ministry and considers it a great privilege to serve the families of Desert View in this way.
Director of Finance & Facility
Don was born and raised in Indiana. He moved to Arizona in 2006 after retiring from the General Contracting and Real Estate Development firm that he owned for 25 years. Don and Dena were married in 1980, and they have 3 grown children, a daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. In 2013 Don co-founded Belay Global, an international mission organization that creates Kingdom entrepreneurs and working professionals to reach the world for Christ. He also is a partner in an energy company in Rwanda that specializes in Hydro-Electric power project development.
Mike Baker was born in California and moved to Arizona in 1965. After graduating from ASU, Mike became a member of the PGA. After 10 years as a golf pro, he spent the next 27 years as a successful national businessman. Mike was one of the 4 original Shepherds of Desert View. In Oct. 2009, Mike joined the DVBC staff as the Business Administrator. He currently serves as Benevolence Coordinator and is a Dave Ramsey Financial Coach. Mike married Debbie (a Phoenix native) in 1969. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, all living in the Valley.
Beth Scott grew up in a small town in Iowa. She has been married to Bill for 18 years and they have two boys, Caleb (16) and Derek (12). They moved to Phoenix in 2007. Beth has worked in the finance ministry at Desert View since September of 2012.
Media & Youth Worship Coordinator
Adam Crane was born in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Phoenix in 2002 to attend Grand Canyon University, where he received a Bachelor's in Christian Education with an emphasis in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministries. Adam leads the Youth Ministry worship teams and is the coordinator for the audio visual needs.
Krista was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She has attended Desert View since 2004, serving on the worship team and in the High School ministry. She has a passion for people, prayer, and ministry and is excited to see how the Lord will work in her career here at DVBC.
Michelle has been married to Chris since 1992. Together they are the proud parents of Emma, Samantha (Sam), and Jonathan. The Bowens returned to the Valley in 2015 after a 5 year absence. Michelle is happy to be serving Desert View and Sandy and Margie as their administrative assistant.
Youth Ministry Assistant
Jacquelyn Mosher was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She married her husband in 2004 and they have three children. Before becoming a stay at home Mom and medical transcriptionist, Jacquelyn managed teams providing technical support for hotel management software. She joined the Kids in the Word team in 2015 and is excited to be a part of the Youth Ministry team here at DVBC.
Cindy Watson grew up in Iowa and had her first ‘official’ date with her husband, Gary for her 14th birthday. Married since 1966, they have 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. After living in 5 different states, the Watsons landed in Omaha where Cindy completed her Bachelor of Music Education degree at UNO and taught K-9th grade music in the Omaha Public Schools. The Watsons moved to Phoenix in 1986 and started attending DVBC the first Sunday at the ‘Church in the Box.’ Cindy joined the staff in 2006 and is currently the ministry assistant for worship, adult, and prayer ministries.
Jason grew up in Woodbury, Minnesota, and joined the U.S. Army at the age of eighteen. He served in combat operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and in 2012 was honorably retired from military service. Jason is married to Sarah, and they have four children. He is passionate about caring for the church facilities, and serving in Children's Ministry.
Stephen Greer is originally from Ireland, but moved to Phoenix several years ago after graduating from the Irish Bible Institute. Shortly after moving to Arizona, he met his wife, Lauren. Stephen has a heart for reaching young adults and leads the Live Young ministry here at Desert View.
Worship Ministry Intern
Alyssa is originally from the Island of Oahu. She is a Senior at Grand Canyon University, majoring in Worship Arts Ministry. Alyssa knew that the Lord was calling her to serve Him through worship when she was 17 years old. Her heart is to serve the Lord and others in any way that she can. She grew up in a Christian, loving, close-knit family, She has two siblings and six nieces and nephews! Alyssa loves to sing and hopes to be able to pick up piano and guitar in the year to come.
Worship Ministry Intern
Ben was born and raised in a Christian household in Scottsdale, AZ. His desire for music began in 2011 and his desire for worship followed soon after. It wasn’t long until he began leading with worship teams at his home church and found a passion for leading others to following Christ. Ben currently attends Grand Canyon University, pursuing a degree in Worship Arts Ministry. His goals for life are to be a worship pastor, or to lead a rock/alternative band spreading a message of love and hope.
